A couple years ago we went to Lake Powell with some friends in the ward. We wanted to do it again because we had so much fun. This time we went with the Larsons and the Mengs. We had our boat and the Larsons brought their jet ski. We had to take turns on the boat, but it was ok, we have to do that at Sand Hollow also.
We left Friday afternoon and met up at Lone Rock to camp over night. Once we got there and set up a little bit the wind started blowing and it started sprinkling on us. The Larsons forgot to bring the poles to their tent, so they had to call the Mengs for help. Luckily, they didn't leave yet, but the Larson's house was all locked up. The Mengs had a spare tent for them to borrow. The wind and rain let up by the time we went to bed. Thank goodness. Then we had the most annoying neighbors. They were young kids drinking all night and using the most foul language. None of us could get any sleep because of them.
We still managed to have a fun time despite the lack of sleep. We played hard all day until the wind started coming again. It blew our tent away and broke our canopy. It blew a couple other tents all the way into the water. The Larson's tube got caught in the wind and this lady grabbed the rope and the tube lifted up like a kite. The wind came and went the rest of the day, so we started packing up to head home. Everything was covered in sand. You'd go to touch your face and it felt like you were exfoliating. Could have done without all that wind, but everyone had a great time.
