Summer time fun...

Dalton caught this fish at Sand Hollow. He caught it within a few minutes of casting out his pole for the first time that night. His Dad had to help him reel it in because it was too strong for him. It started swimming under the boat! He's lucky his fishing pole didn't break! It was 21 inches long and 3 lbs. Dalton was so proud. They filled the cooler with water and brought that thing home. Mel cooked it on the BBQ the next day. I wouldn't let him cook it in the house. I can't stand the smell of fish.
While I was at Girl's camp, Dalton had his 7th birthday. He didn't even get a cake from me this year. How sad. I was really bummed about that. (Then I didn't feel like it after camp.) Daddy took the kids to see "Up" for his birthday. Dalton wanted to go fishing with a few friends instead of having a party. They started a fire in our back yard the day before (with the friends), so the friends couldn't go. We went to Grandma and Grandpa's for Father's Day, so we sang Happy Birthday to Dalton then.
This is his birthday present from the parents. He was pretty excited about that. I sent Mel to the store to find a microscope, and he came back with this. I was pretty surprised, but of course, Dalton loves it.

You know it's summer time when the Lemonade stands are up! The kids made $.25. They got a little tired of waiting for people, and the people that did come, got lemonade for free! They were pretty cozy under the umbrella.

I didn't see their lemonade stand!! I would've bought some from them for sure.

I'm glad Dalton had a good birthday even though you weren't there. That was probably hard on both of you. And how did they start a fire in the backyard?? That's scary!

That fish is HUGE!! I can't stand the smell of fish either. Did it taste good though?
