Memorial day camping trip

For Memorial Day weekend we went camping in Kolob Mountain. Clint and Phil came with us. We were supposed to go camping with my brothers and sister, but since we had the chicken pox nobody wanted to come with us. Go figure! We still had a good time, even though everyone else did their own thing. Mel and Phil went up the mountain on Thursday night to pick a spot. Friday when we got up there, the spot next to the one they picked was empty so we took that one instead. It was much better.

We ate lots of yummy food, we fished, we hiked (kind of). The boys were digging for worms the whole time we were there. They would put them in a cup and carry it around with them. I found Preston putting some in his pockets and carried them around. He always had a worm in his hand. He reminded me of that little boy on Old Yeller that stuck all kinds of critters in his pockets.

Dalton and Preston always thought they needed to take care of the fire. They would stick their sticks in, poke around for a while and pull it back out. Of course it would be hot. Dalton tried blowing on his and burnt his lip. It looked like one of his chicken pox scabs on his face. Dalton also thought he needed to cut the wood. He would carry Clint's saw around.

Saturday night it started to rain. It rained pretty good for a while with lightning and thunder. I loved it. It made it a little cold, though. Thank goodness we had campers to sleep in.

Alee slept all 3 nights without waking up. We didn't know how she would do because as a baby, she would just scream all night.

Preston is in a pirate stage. Every time I want to take his picture he has to make a pirate face.

We wished everyone else could have come with us. Maybe another time!

We wanted to come and we should have, our trip ended up being awful and we went home way earlier than planned! I'm glad you guys had a good time!

We want to go next time- we spent the day stripping & sanding our arch so we could restain it and hope it is good for at least another three years- it felt good to accomplish such a task but camping would have been funner!

I am glad you guys got to go camping anyways. I love Preston's pirate face. Too cute. Glad the chicken pox are officially done at your house!
