We went to Good's candy shop three out of the four days we were there. They used to only make chocolate seasonally, now they have ice cream and are open all year long. My parents are their best customers!! We get a box of chocolate every year for Christmas. I had to bring a box home. They have a place where you can watch them make the candies.
We went walking around Mounds park. The weather was just right. I am glad we went when we did because now they are going through a heat wave with high humidity on top of that.
Some of the park. We loved how green it was.
Here are the mounds made by the Mounds Indians.
There were a few little streams. Don't worry, he is only pretending to drink!
Addi was enjoying her visit to the park.
The kids loved the lightning bugs. As we were driving, Mel saw flashes of light on the side of the road and wondered what they were. He soon realized they were tons of lightning bugs all over. I watched a lightning bug hit the windshield. It was funny because his light slowly went out.
We took a day and went to the Children's Museum in Indianapolis. It was so fun and very interactive. There's four levels of different things to do and see. Preston is a dinosaur sitting on his egg.
My favorite part has always been the dollhouses. The boys didn't seem to like it all that much.
Addi under the black lights. It's so fun to watch everything glow. It reminded us of the bililight Addi had to be under for her first two weeks of life.
On our travels home, we stopped at the Liberty Jail in Liberty, Missouri. We were planning on spending the night there, but every hotel was booked for a car show. We traveled to the next town and they were all booked as well. Finally, we found a hotel. I guess that's one problem when you don't plan ahead.
The drive home was not as fun as the drive going. The kids were not as excited and they were bored. I love this picture of Alee. She looks like she needs some intellectual stimulation.Preston got a new football, so he was happy.
Dalton's picture got erased so I will have to add it later. We had a fabulous time, we just wish we had more of it.
